A Yankee Princess

Just a precious little thing,
Under Mr Griffith's wing
Another "baby star" would start
Next to Fairbanks, Stone and Hart.
Ingénue or flapper, she
Triumphed with skill and fresh beauty;
And truly, there will never be

another
        Bessie

Thanks for your recent visit to my blog! I have never heard of the actress Maude Fealy and she is not in my Pictorial History of the American Theatre 1860-1970. Where was she from? Love your blog Silent Stanzas!

Maude Fealy was a stage actress who made the jump to films around 1911. I am only just learning about her myself - but what a beauty she was:
